Installing the Filemail Add-in for Outlook (Personal Installation)

Overview

The Filemail Outlook Add-in can be installed directly from Microsoft's AppSource marketplace without requiring organization-wide deployment. Once installed, you can securely send large and encrypted files directly from Outlook.

Outlook on the Web (OWA)

  1. Open Outlook on the web and sign in to your Microsoft account.

  2. Create a new email message or open an existing draft.

  3. Click Apps from the Outlook toolbar.

  4. Select Get Add-ins or Add apps.

  5. Search for Filemail.

  6. Locate Filemail in the search results and click Add.

  7. Review the permissions and click Continue if prompted.

The Filemail add-in is now available in Outlook.

Outlook Desktop (New Outlook for Windows and Outlook for Mac)

  1. Open Outlook.

  2. Create a new email message.

  3. Click Apps in the Outlook ribbon.

  4. Select Get Add-ins.

  5. Search for Filemail in the Microsoft marketplace.

  6. Click Add next to the Filemail add-in.

  7. Accept any permissions if prompted.

The add-in will be installed and available immediately or after Outlook refreshes.

Open the Filemail Add-in

  1. Create a new email message.

  2. Add the files you want to send as normal Outlook attachments.

  3. Open Apps from the Outlook toolbar or ribbon.

  4. Select Filemail.

The Filemail pane opens on the right side of the message window.

Sign In

The first time you use the add-in:

  1. Click Sign in.

  2. Enter your Filemail account credentials.

  3. Complete the authentication process.

After signing in, the add-in remembers your account and displays your transfer settings and subscription information.
