I do not see my files in the Filemail pane
Check that the files are attached to the Outlook email. Some cloud-based attachments or shared links may not appear as regular file attachments. In that case, add the files directly from your device if possible.
The add-in says the email is ready, but the email has not been sent
This is expected. The Filemail add-in prepares the encrypted transfer and inserts the link. You still need to press Send in Outlook.
The recipient received the key but not the download link
This can happen if Let Filemail deliver the key is selected. In that case, the key email may arrive before the Outlook email. Ask the recipient to wait for your email with the Filemail download link.
Also check that you pressed Send in Outlook after the add-in showed that the email was ready.
I added another file after upload started
Files added after encryption starts are not included in the Filemail transfer.
Start the encryption process again if the new file should also be encrypted and sent through Filemail.
The upload is taking a long time
Large files may take longer to encrypt and upload. Keep Outlook open until the add-in says the email is ready to be sent.
The download link was inserted in the wrong place
Open Settings and change Link position to choose where the link should appear in future emails.
What happens with inline images and email signatures
Images in your email signature or inline images inside the email body may remain in the email. The add-in is designed to encrypt file attachments, not to remove or modify your email signature.
Tracking downloads sent with Filemail Outlook Add-in
For emails sent to one recipient, Filemail may use a tracked download link. For emails sent to multiple recipients, Filemail may use a general download link.
If tracking is limited because the email has multiple recipients, the add-in will show this information in the Filemail pane. This note is not inserted into the email body.
Only encrypt some of the files
You can choose to only encrypt a sub set of the files you are sending. Do this by first adding the file(s) you want to encrypt; then click to encrypt the files. Any file you add after this will stay attached to the e-mail as normal unless you choose to encrypted also the files you added later.
Cancelling an upload
While files are being encrypted and uploaded, you can click Cancel upload. If the process is cancelled before completion, the Outlook email is not updated with the final Filemail download link.
Therefore, it is always recommended to review your attachments before sending the email.
